Utterly Useless

August 25, 2010

Utterly Useless- this post is it.

As is blogging instead of studying, reading instead of mugging, writing instead of practice papers, and meditation instead of stress. Who needs those; they are, after all, nothing more than living. And who needs living when you have examinations to ace, applications to fill in, interviews to score at, and places to secure. Who needs life when you have study, who needs learning when you have mugging.

Utterly Useless- some things are it I suppose, it just depends who you are.

Back to work life.

The point of education

August 15, 2010

(With some assumptions about the userbase of Stumbleupon, it says something about American politics that the above Stumble can  be classified as activism or liberal politics)

If you ask me, it is clearly concerned with education. The man himself, the ex-president and long-deceased, pretty much mentions it explicitly. And neatly sums up, missing very little, my opinions of and the esteem with which I hold a liberal arts education. Oh bloody hell what am I going to do in university/college.

Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm
Into this house we’re born
Into this world we’re thrown
Like a dog without a bone
An actor out alone
Riders on the storm

Sometimes low self-esteem is earned.
It’s the correct response if you are not trying your best.

or, a more classic one

Education begins the gentleman.
Reading, good company, and reflection finish him.
