A mother’s advice

June 26, 2010

(or rather, judgement) is that the recent passing of the trusty, reliable, 19 inch Samsung LCD clad in drab but dependable black plastic, is a sign of NO MORE PLAY TIME TO STUDY FOR CTs. I’d beg to differ. Who would have imagined signs were this banal and mundane? But, the studying bit makes sound advice, which I am, unfortunately enough, unlikely to heed.

(OR, it could also be a sign of HURRAH TIME TO GET A 300 INCH LCD, HANG IT ON THE WALL AND PIMP THE ROOM UP WITH SOME LIFESIZE STORMTROOPER ARMOUR SUITS AND WHATNOT)

The ten-hour-and-counting match between Isner and Mahut is truly epic, in the pre-internet use of the word. Two spirits, locked in a struggle of wills, neither willing to give the slightest ground, fighting for every point although the winner is most certainly in no shape for the next round. This, then, is spirit.

In other sporting related internet culture, more vuvuzelas!

For all you world cup watchers who can’t get enough of those funky South African ‘musical instruments’.

Maybe I’ll start really posting again when KI and CT madness are over. Or when the ‘favourites’ at the World Cup get their act together. Yeah, right, like that could happen.

Oh, the irony, it cuts me to the core

Up yours Internet, you can suck it while I DO WORK. RAWR.

Meh, this blog is slowly but surely slipping into the oblivion otherwise known as death. (In my defence, not as if I’ve gotten lazy or anything, more like it just becomes harder what with the looming IS deadline and the CTs which I am so totally going to fail.) Perhaps I should decide between one of the following choices:

1. Hiatus.

2. Update every few days with thought-provoking vignettes, humorous snippets of conversation, and occasional Youtube videos, and real posts once in a while.

Hey look, a video!

A day late and many dollars too short

June 6, 2010

Let’s play pin the blame on something! Celebrations regarding the TOTALLY OVERNESS of h3 chem on this blog are late because… of real-life celebrations of it being over? Two days of holidays frittered away, doing just about nothing productive. Fine and dandy really, except for a couple of snags: firstly, these are hardly the best holidays to being wasting away, and, secondly and more importantly, the slacking has brought on a strange, never-before felt sensation.

About this sensation: hard to exactly put my finger on what it is, but possibly, just maybe, it might be twinges (if not waves) of regret and guilt. For which I blame h3 for making me mug, and hence no longer able to enjoy lazing around. Which, come to think of it, might not be a bad thing. I might actually use discontent to spur myself into spending time into something more productive. Like learning something. Or mugging. Or KI IS. Right, that.

See up there, that thing about ‘a day late and a dollar short’ and whatnot? Well, the first bit is explained, so the second: holidays=broke + unfulfilled material desires .

Note to self: Material desires? pffffft. Get a hold of yourself xian.

Right, that’s done. For those of you who don’t care for personal blogging, sorry about this one. I might eventually, one day during this holiday, put up something if I think of it. I might even get my ass around to editing that terrible short story and putting it up.
